Broome
To the north of Western Australia lies The Kimberley, one of the first areas ever to be settled by humans in Australia, around 40,000 years ago, and famous for its diamonds. Kununara has a growing tourism industry, drawing on the spectacular scenery of the Ord River and the nearby Bungle Bungles domes of stripy sandstone rock. Meanwhile, Broome, famous for Cable Beach, is oozing with colour and culture having once been the pearling capital of the world.
