Alice Springs

Alice Springs (or ‘The Alice’ as it’s affectionately known by the locals) straddles the usually dry Todd River on the northern side of the MacDonnell Ranges. Known as the aboriginal art capital of Australia, the town is home to many Aboriginal Art Galleries. Beyond Alice Springs lies spectacular Kings Canyon, with walls towering some 300 metres high in places.
