Australia’s native wildlife is truly accessible here – koalas snooze in trees and kangaroos graze at the roadside. Kangaroo Island is Australia’s miniature answer to the Galapagos - a pristine wilderness brimming with wildlife, it has its own seal conservation centre. The island (or ‘KI’ as the locals like to call it) is a haven for hundreds of species of wildlife from pelicans and penguins to possums and platypuses.
