Tailor Made Self-Drive Trips

Some countries just lend themselves to the freedom of a driving holiday, as do some travellers – namely those with poor time keeping prone to missing buses, heavy packers in need of big boots or generally anyone with a driving licence. And why not? We have put together some of our favourite itineraries in South Africa, New Zealand, US and Canada, however if you’re looking for something with a more personal touch why not get in contact with one of our team to create your own tailor-made self-drive itinerary!

SOUTH AFRICA

There’s no better country to appreciate the independence and freedom of a self drive holiday than in South Africa. Home of the Garden Route - one of the most iconic driving routes in the world, as well as beautiful landscapes woven into vineyards (reserved for non-driving days obviously) and world-famous national parks bursting with wildlife, nowhere else can you experience such diversity, untamed wilderness beauty or culture on just one road trip.

Your self-drive includes:

• All accommodation to a standard & budget of your choosing

• 24-hour in-country support services

• For all itineraries starting in Cape
Town – a welcome pack including
letter and details of local attractions

• Most breakfasts, but self-catering
options are available and safari
lodges tend to be full board with
twice daily game drives

Regional Highlights

The Garden Route - stretching from Mossel Bay to just past Plettenbery Bay, the Garden Route is one of the greatest driving routes in the world.

Kruger National Park - the size of a small country, the Greater Kruger National Park is one of the continent's most iconic safari destinations.

The Blue Train - if you'd like to mix up your transport, think about embracing the romantic era of 1920s rail travel and complete your route on board the legendary Blue Train.

Cape Winelands - not something that usually lends itself to a driving holiday but you'll need to make an exception and build in an extra couple of nights to soak up South Africa's finest vintages.

Cape Town - with it's proximity to world-class winelands, stunning beaches and the magnetic draw of table mountain, few cities capture visitor's hearts like Cape Town.
